I worked for a Nevada company, Paragon Assoc. they forced us to drive trucks with defective brakes,no permits, no insurance(I found this out after they folded up). They hired new people even when they were going under. Promised benefits but added so many conditions that noone qualified. Owned by little rich kid with daddy's money. Daddy pulled the plug. Everyone got screwed.

CRST has got to be the worst company ever!!!! My friend and I decided to go with crst because they had a program that would allow her to train me. She has two years exp. and I have none. they did hire us. as time went on, they paid me a flat $400.00 a week. As for my friend? they paid her half the miles...they split her miles with themselves!!!!!!!!!!! Again, as time went on they lowered her cents per miles earned. I really don't know how they get away with this!!! They are flat out stealing from her. They do not maintain their equipment, they do not reimburse. They owe me over 600.00 in reimb. I really don't think I'm ever going to see this. I also understand that if you go to school through them, they will nickel and dime you to death. If you had a car, apt. and cell phone, kiss them good-bye. You are contracted to them for eight months and you are broke all the time.

I once work for a small outfit D&M transportation Hauling old muscle cars all over the country... I loved the job but I would be on the road for weeks at a time and not get paid because the owner wasnt making enough money to pay for expences on the trucks like fuel tolls and payments to pay his drivers after.... I for some reason put up with it for a little while.. collecting what I could when the boss had it.. then when my son was born and i was at the hospital my son in ICU I was told that I had to go to CT to deliver a car asap! Told the boss that I wasnt leaving my son who wasnt more than a few hours old to go on the road.. but i did offer to contact someone else to drive for me that already drove on an as needed basis.. he told me i was selfish and needed to put my job before my family... well needles to say I told Him to get his truck off my property in the next few hours or it would be towed as an abboned vehicle trailer and all as well as the $50,000 car that was loaded and I never went back and never will

You can sue them for that. I sued a company that i worked for because they fired me for a safety violation and they pretty much violated there own handbook. I refused a load due to a safety problem and they said take the load or you are fired so i refused it due to the nature of the problem and yes they fired me. If you were in the right find a lawyer that only gets paid if you win.
I did and i got like hundred thousand dollors out of it.
Dont let them screw you fellow driver reverse it and screw them.

U need to get your time in with a company but just becareful working for jb hunt because they can make your life a living he.. so the best way to go is do loads that others wont do and make good with the boss. Sorry you are having problems but dont feel bad because i am to. NOOOO dont buy your own truck because fuel is to high for that you would suffer even more. Keep trying and dont lose hope and be honest up front.

Thanks I don't have Yahoo messenger if I do I don't know how to use it. I think it su... to have to go through Recruiters for jobs. I need to find a company where I can just talk to the owner up front. the recruiters are just like Human resores's they weed out people who they think will mess up. its to bad that so many others have messed up making it hard for me. when a good driver wrecks its not heard of, but when a good driver with a felony wrecks the media is all over it. oh well I will keep looking. thanks and Good luck to you to. I just got a call from Interstate trucking my felony is not old enough/ rick

I have been a driver for 20+ yrs. I have a perfect safety record, no felonies or even misdemeanors and my MVR is is practically spotless. The prob. is I had open heart surgery 6 mos. ago and i haven't been in a T.T. for over 18 mos. and not OTR for 3 yrs. I have been local for 6-7 yrs. I take a blood thinner called coumadin for my heart and pain killers for my back. Now i seem to be medically disqualified to all employers it seems. I saw with my own eyes JB hire complete idiots that couldn't drive a truck if there very existence depended on it. I went to JB and they D.Q.ed me for medical reasons. These companies hire and fire for what they see on paper and not even see what they might have in a driver. Too Dang bad for them to lose the drivers that actually know what they are doing.I hear Pizza Hut is looking for a few good drivers

Hi sorry to hear about that and with the medical problems i know how ruff it can be not working because i was fired from Jb Hunt for something that was not even my fault heck the even violated there own handbook. I took jbhunt to court over this and im still waiting for the judges final decision.
I have not been able to find a job close to a year now because jb hunt is blackballing me. All i can say is stay away from JB HUNT they will mess your life up. I was dedicated with them going out 2 times a day and i would be home daily. Good luck Brother driver!!!

I got my CDL in California July 2007 that was the last time I drove was at the DMV taking the test, I have 6 felony convictions. the last one was 6 years ago. the rest of them are over 10 years old on heroin conviction in 1996. I applied for every bull spit truck company that was posted on line and all the dirt hauling company's in my town. and Big Dawg dont trust them they are full of it. then some guy said he could get me a job hauling wood floors in another state, he was full of it to.
well maybe some one will hire you if you get a hazmat, who knows. they look at whats on paper, they never take the time to know you. I am driving a bob tail, but most the time I am the passanger.

Well if you think you have control and the lord to. you better decide on who has more control. I think it would be the good lord. And if he gives you any control then you can drive truck. All though if you are in to God, Ask God where he wants you to work. And go to it. Work for God, Because God has control over everything. And you will work where ever he wants you to work, and let me tell you you might not like the job he gives you. But you might want to be great full that he got you a job. I cant stand the job he gave me. 10.00 an hour working with a guy who stinks living in the most expensive place in California. But he said he would prosper me so maybe if I am patient he will open a better job. Good luck to you. Deric

Good luck chuck.

Try Big Dawg, they are slow to respond but they seem to say they will help people with a checkered past. but they told me to wait 10 more years.

Every trucking company has there quirks and problems. Unless you go over the road with jb hunt then u wont make any money. I was a dedicated driver with jb hunt and my bring home pay was 400 if i was lucky. I dont want you to make the same mistake me and others did (working for jb hunt) Jb hunt cant keep drivers because they get tired of working there butts off for alittle bit of nothing.
You do what u need to do as far as finding a job. Listen to your heart and you will be fine. Bumblebee3709

I sure feel better reading over others experiences. For a second there I felt like the only one having trouble finding a job. Im a very hard worker, nice guy have had employers say things like "MarK if I had a hundred guys Like you thered be no stoping us" and had a $20.00+ p/h job. Then one day I got a raise and decided to go out to dinner with my wife and have a few drinks since ill id do was work all the time and hardly took her out, Thought it was well deserved. one block from my house i was pulled over and charged with dui because I refused to blow. Lost my job, license and had to deal with feeling like a total failure for losing everything i had worked so hard for. A year has passed and have since received my CDL but no one will hire me after running my MVR (DUI was dropped and I was charged with reckless driving instead). I sincerally wish and pray for each one of you because I know first hand what being a good person but having bad paper feels like when you are refused/turned down. I think the best things are forums like these where we can help each other out. I live in illinois near chicago, if anyone knows where I might be able just to get my foot in the door please let me know. If i get hired Ill make sure to let you all know thanks guys for taking time to read my 2cents.
