I have an option to go into 2 orientations now. Heartland Express and FFE (refregirated freight). I don't have any experience with the Reefer and can anybody tell me what are the pros and cons? Also, do you know anything about those two, because right now I am kinda leaning towards Heartland |

I drove no-touch reefers for awhile and loved it. Usually reefer pays a bit more. |

Be prepared to have very long loading and unloading times with Reefer freight. Also reefer freight is very up and down so be prepared to sit for extended times as well. Also VERY heavy. Own a small trucking company and we have our 2 reefers sitting because freight was so crappy compare to profit margin. Good Luck! |

I'd HIGHLY recommend heartland. They have one of the highest pay rates for a NON-unionized company. The only thing I don't like about heartland, was that they give daily fuel purchase amounts, eg: 75 gallons, where as with other companies, you just fill up on your comdata card. Some People struggle with the noise of reefers...you might want to look at this site, it has some info. |
