Hi Kevin,

What do you think is the best company out there to start a driving career with, one that offers company cdl training. My son is thinking about driving as a career.

And, also what do you think about Schneider?

Schneider would be at the bottom of my list, they require more training time than any other carrier which equals less money. Most all carriers are the same they just have different ways of selling their package to drivers. Check out usacdljobs.com we have a great list of companies and their is also some great information on the message board for drivers that are just starting out. This is a free service to all drivers.

HI Kevin,
as a driver with 10+ yrs exp I am currently having difficulty in finding gainful employment with any company. Due to an accident in Oct 2007. Most companies make the claim that a driver can have as many as 3-5 accidents within a certain time frame, and even as I meet their criteria I am still unemployable due to this accident. Perhaps you can suggest a company in which I can apply to as I am desperately in need of work?

If you're looking into Schneider, compared to all other companies on training, they are the shortest. 2 week school, 2 - 3 OTR with trainer issued your own truck. They also have one of the highest safety ratings.

I started with Schneider, and hands down recommend everyone needing company training to start with them. Schneider also trains in Bulk, if you are looking to driver tankers instead of vans.

Others like cr england and swift usually are 2 weeks school, 4 - 8 weeks OTR with trainer, and then issued a truck.

They have some training info on this site.

Schneider currently has no openings up here right now for inexperienced drivers. What other company do you recommend for company paid CDL training? I here alot of negativity about england and swift. From what I researched, Schneider is the best and fairest to inexperience drivers.

I've looked at the site you recommended and there was a company I never heard of before - H.O. Wolding - any comments from you on them? They provide training.

There is CRST, Werner, USA truck, Pam, Avert something-nothing I'm in love with-any other company out there providing company paid cdl training and treats their drivers fairly.

Iforgot to mention Stevens as a bad company. Look at their 401k - they only match up to 800 bucks - that's BS in terms of retirement packages.
