I am looking for a seamtress or a group of seamtress that can handle a large order of 300 to be finished in a 2- 3 week time span. This will be an ongoing working relationship. I am a upcoming designer and need someone to produce my designs for a major company that has accepted my proposal. |

Why don't you post the opening for the job on the Indeed Jobs section? The forums are for discussion whereas many job seekers only look at the job listings. |

I would not recommend working for this Janell person. Any employer who posts their job ad here in the forums to avoid having to pay the advertising fee to Indeed is not the sort of person you can trust to pay you when you have done work for them in my opinion. |

Please also be aware of the comments you make regarding employers who post job positions on this forum....as myself this is my first time in this line of work and I happened to come acroos this forum and gave it a try. It by in no way mean that I can not afford to post advertising ads (which I can well afford if you have to know). I am just venturing out and trying any and all types of communication lines as would any well-rounded FRESH employer who envisions success...So please dont be so quick to pass premature statements that can be taken as offensive...you never know who that person may be in your future...

Susan in Alvin, Texas said: Please also be aware of the comments you make regarding employers .......well-rounded FRESH employer who envisions success.....you never know who that person may be in your future... You are quite mistaken, Susan. One - I am self-employed and here only to discuss and advise based on 45 years experience in business. Two - I would never accept a job sewing clothes so you definitely wouldn't ever be my employer. Three - You apparently started your business without any sort of business plan so it will most likely fail within the first year. You don't have an advertising strategy and you have proposed a contract without having the means to fulfill it. Your credibility is nil. Fourth - You break the rules by posting any contact information here. This isn't a case of freedom of speech. You are here as a guest of Indeed.com and they have parameters on what is allowed. Fifth - You are already a terrible businessman because an ad in the proper place would be seen by millions of people where in the forums few people will see it. Those millions might be potential customers in addition to potential employees. Sixth - Posting personal contact information in public is dangerous to you and just plain dumb. (cont'd) |
|
Charlie in Norcross, Georgia 14 months ago |
(cont'd) Seventh - Fulfilling a longtime dream is not a good reason to go into business for yourself. Business is not an emotional thing and when the business has difficulties you will be one of the first to give up on it. Eight - Your product is ridiculous. Even if you had ten sewers working for you you would not be able to compete with established businesses in the trade. Your business needs a name like "Ralph Lauren" or the like. Without it, you are just another starving artist designer. Ninth - Freedom to express opinions applies to me also and I am just doing that, not drumming up business or advertising for cheap home based labor. Tenth - A trip to your local Department of Labor would find you local talent instead of depending on an international forum where the chances are quite small that someone in your area would happen to see your ad here and be able to accept the position. Shall I continue? |

Leonie in Jonesboro, Georgia said: you really are not nice!! First Off you over prideful fool I was not meaning any insult. For your information a very blessed designer has advised me to try this area. If I would have known that people as yourself would take things out of context and try to step on one person's dream because of your own failures then I would not have tried this. It is a shame that a person like you is allowed to be on sites like this and be able to comment negative feedback to people like me "asking for good solid advise" To everyone else who looks at this forum good luck to you and God bless you all!! I am NOT a mean person by far! A dear idiot dont judge people when you dont know anything about them. By the way I Have found my seamtress 4 actually we have a wonderful working relationship and I have been accepted by "8" stores so far! Please know that I am not bragging but I just wanted this negative IDIOT to see that blessings do come to you when you are sincere!! No i am surely not a NUN or proclaiming to be Miss religious but I do Know who gives me my blessings. I thank God that I do not have to depend on jealous People like the one who wrote such a negative response to someone like me just looking for advise from seasoned veterans. You are a disgrace to all who have a dream and maybe one day you can get off your tuff and make a positive difference in your community as I am doing for mine...Oh and Mr. Charlie I do have a business plan plus 2 good lawyers!!!!! Oh and I would never employ such an over-experienced idiot as yourself....You see you forgot where you started someone advised and helped your pompus A_ _ !!! but I forgot you are above everyone else and God forbid you need anyones help..I feel sorry for you...This is my last comment..I normally do not waste time on people like yourself that i consider below me based on your responses that apparantley you thought of as you were taking a dump. NOW IM MEAN!!FOOL! |

NOW IF YOU ARE ALL THAT EXPERIENCED AND ABOVE ALL THEN I CHALLENGE YOU AND YOUR DESIGNS IF YOU HAVE ANY?!!!!! GUARANTEE THEY CAN NOT COMPETE WITH MINE....NOW STEP UP OR SHUT UP!!!! THE BALL IS IN YOUR COURT AND I HAVE OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED A CHALLENGE TO YOUR WEAK ASS!!!

You are behind in your time and need to retire...It is time for us new fresh minded designers and seamtress to mop the floor with your ancient NO Good advise given self..(I should have cursed).. I have seen where you have put down others on this forum trying to start anew as well..You are a scared old man or woman (probably both) who is aware of your time being over!!! We will be the ones that uproot you and throw you to the side...unless you are Polo..Fubu...Gucci..D&C...etc.. then shut the HELL up and let us do our thing...If we make mistakes along the way then fine it is a learning experience..It doesnt mean we are going to give up HELL you DIDN'T!!!So leave us alone and go jerk yourself in your own little world little man!! To any one interested in expanding or developing a design concept and taking to a level of mass production, I am interested in helping. Some of the things that I can do for you are things like:
Other things that I can do if manufacturing will be done over seas are to help you get a RN #, a customs broker, help you get your HS# and if you will be acquiring your raw materials in the US as well as producing in the US a Certificate of Origin from NAFTA so you can export to places like Mexico and Canada.
