What do you enjoy most about satellite installer work? What do you dislike the most? Is it challenging? Are there many opportunities to learn and advance? What keeps you at your job? |

My favorite part about my job is the windsheild time between jobs. The scenery here in the Franklin, NC area is awsome. Many of the homes I work in are located on tops of mountains, so I get the oportunity to see many mountain peaks and valleys from many diferent angles. Oh yea the money is great too! |

I dislike: The lack of integrity of the satellite and cable installation industry. The inability of the employers I have worked for to answer questions regarding important electrical matters. Diplexers The inconsistency of my birdog to find the correct home on the twin plus lnb, or the inconsistent way the twin plus lnb is manufactured. Retailers telling lies to make a sale. hours of work lack of centralized office in my immediate area to pick up equipment, paperwork, paycheck, etc... favoritism and inequity in work distribution lying by company reps to me the installer incorrect addresses on work orders stupid customers non-stop barking of dogs and owners who wont shut em up small crawl spaces shallow attics fast food for days on end long hours likes: working on my own handling customers with tact without a "boss" hanging over me satisfying customers pay better than minimum wage sometimes being able to handle my own schedule diplexers buying new tools to make the job quicker and better |

Dislike, dam chargeback for no phone line connection. Sub Contractor company making up crazy rules thats not in writing to make excuse to charge you back and put the money in their pockets. Dislikes rich customer who treat installers like bad and act like they are god compared to you. Dislike messy homes that stinks and dislike big homes where you have to use the 28 foot ladder. Dislike the pay and the dang stress and having to take a dump all the time at gas stations or McDonald. I dislike having to take a dump at customer's house. I do like the driving around and not having to sit in a cubicle all day. I like that I meet some hot customers. Not much to like but just a job for now until I find something better. |
